Steve Diet Goedde (Photographer) :
"Philip's work harnesses the three components of great photography:
understanding lighting, knowing composition, and bringing out the beauty of
his subjects. I love being able to look through his eyes. He's one of my
favorite photographers out there, period."

Michael Hussar (Painter) :
"Although he uses a camera. Make no mistake about it Philip is a Painter. He paints with Light... His palette is a prism as rich and painterly as any Goya or Velasquez or Vermeer. Through the vessel that is the Female Landscape, he effortlessly establishes a direct and powerful visual dialogue with the viewer that is both voyeuristic and present."

Chad Michael Ward (Photographer)":
"There's no mistaking an Lithium Picnic image when you see it. Iconographic in form and perfectly understated in color, Lithium Picnic has carved a very defined niche in modern photography. With equal parts fashion and fetish and a keen eye for composition, Picnic's work is as powerful and precise as the coming storm. You've been warned."
Quotes: Don't hate the player hate the (stockholm) syndrome.

NYC
So I am alive and mostly well - I survived hurricane Ike.  Power and internet have been out for most of the last week I just got net back today.  Some people still don't have power...

My area was pretty smashed up I have some pretty serious roof damage and some windows and roof panels blew out.  A tree crashed into the side of my house it was pretty crazy.  The gusts of wind were estimated at 90-100mph I could fee my house swaying.

My neighbor's carport was demolished, lots of huge trees torn up/broken/uprooted.  I'm too lazy to upload and post the photos I shot of the carnage.  I'm sure most of you have seen pics already on the news if you had any interest...

I wonder if that sassy believes in hurricanes now...

I just got back from a week in SF, I shot some ridiculously attractive girls for DN and my own work.  I had to miss dinner with Henry and Sean Barber I was bummed but my shoots went well - if a little late.

The Zivity workshop was awesome... everyone was really cool and the feedback has been great.  Photos from the event will surface soon - I've seen some online...  I'll post some of mine soon (the ones I can post on myspace anyway)...

Spent a lot of time with <3mosh<3 we shot a lot - lots of new stuff on the way.  Was nice to geek it up and hang out with Steen and I finally got Mischa naked on an elephant.

Conan and I made a fort and put a "no girls allowed" sign on our door.

The east coast needs love too so I'm headed to NYC for about a week - if you're interested in shooting a set for DN or hiring me please let know soon -  I think I'll have a little free time.

thanks,
Philip
