About My Photography
My work has evloved alot over the past year. After almost a decade of shooting nothing but 35mm black and white film (and shooting mostly fetish related themes), I recently switched to digital. My heart is still in film but, as you can see here, digital has given me a whole new canvas to work with and explore my different ranges of color. I'm really excited by anything that makes a person stand back and say, "now that is fucking sexy,"......let's face it, if you can't evoke emotion like that from your photos, then why even bother taking pictures at all.

Lack of DN updates/ Motorpsycho news......
So, I just wanted to put out something to apologize once again for my lack of involvement as of lately on the site. I have really cut back a whole lot on shooting now that it is too cold to shoot in many of my cool outdoor locations.  My home studio is pretty limited these days seeing as how I shot sooo much in it last winter,....it's kinda played out I feel. I really hate studio set ups anyway.  All in all I am just kinda stepping back from my work to re-evaluate myself as a photographer.  I feel I am getting stuck on doing alot of the same angles and shots with different models and I don't want my stuff to become too cliche' or something. I guess some people might just call that their "style" but I view it as a crutch. I think that it is kinda like if you don't re-invent yourself a little from time to time,....people will just get tired of you and worst of all you will just get tired of yourself.  I don't know,....I am rambling.

Plus, to make matters worse,.....I am scared to death of trying to make any photo prints on my large format printer because a week or so ago these little gansta thug kids in my neighborhood threw a rock through my window because they didn't like me peeking out at them as they were walking by and exploded the window all over my my $600 Canon Pixma Pro9000 completely filling every working space of the printer with shards of broken glass. So, long story short,......I am did the most insanely meticulous clean up job I could,.....but I am scared to death to try and print for fear that a shard will dislodge from a crevase somewhere and shred my print heads or something.

To make matters even worse,..........I have to print about 20 large format prints for a gallery opening in Muncie on Febuary 5th.

So, the last little side note here also kind of explains what I have been doing with alot of my spare time now that I am not shooting as much. Since this last summer (when I had to send in my camera to Nikon for 3 months!!!) I have been completely and totally obsessed with motorcycles. Mostly japanese ones, especially old vintage Hondas. I did a bunch of side work and saved up and finally bought my first motorcycle in September and it is a 1981 Honda CB900 custom.  For those of you who don't know much about bikes a 900cc motorcycle is NOT a starter bike for most people.......cause they weigh over 600 lbs.- which is a pretty good size bike.  But I'm about 6'1 -6'2 so I needed something big. I freaking love that bike though. I restored a bunch of things on it myself. I even rebuilt the whole charging system from parts off of ebay. I had never even so much as changed a spark plug before and I forced myself to learn as much about it as I could to rebuild it on my own. I also just bought a 1980 Honda CB 750 tonight that I am saving up money to take the engine out of and turn into a custom chopper. I figure the best way to really get "intiated in" to the biker subculture is to build your own freakin' bike.  I found a bunch of websites that specificly cater to people who try to convert 750cc bikes over to choppers so I am pretty set as far as where to find parts. Now I just need to train myself step by step on how to fully assemble my own chopper. I guess that is part of the fun........

Ohh btw if anyone you know has a set of old "Harley springer front forks" I would kill for those.........

Here is a shot of me and my present obsession.................click the link for the photo to pop up.

it's good to be able to step back and re-invent yourself from time to time.  good luck with that.

and good luck with the printer!

Sounds like you and I are working on similar plans in the bike realm. I recently bought a 1980 Yamaha XJ650 that I'm (slowly) working on. Sounds like you might dig that kinda bike, it doesn't look too incredibly dissimilar from yours, aside from being in MUCH worse shape, of course. It's my first time trying to do anything like this and it's cool to read that somebody else is taking on that sort of project too.

Anyway, I really just popped over to compliment you on the photos you took of Sinclair, very cool location and nice photos all 'round.

I'm purple now, so they're definitely taking the set! I think the initial message that they were going to buy it got put in my spam folder.... but we know for sure now!
