About Me: I’m single. I’m not your normal kinda’ guy. I don’t believe in God, marriage, monogamy or Windows. I love Buddhist philosophy (thought I’m an atheist), I love the Steelers (though we sucked in 2006), and I find comparative religion fascinating (so much diversity in faith out there).
I believe in the Big Bang and in evolution. Yeah, I’m an ape in pants with a cell phone. You are too. I think, anyways. The science is pretty convincing. Did you know we share over 98% of our DNA with chimps? Yeah. There you go. Explains all the hair on my back, for sure.
I believe that all this life we live is ephemeral and transient (big words, go look them up if ya’ gotta’) and that change is what it’s all about. Of course, the irony is I love life and hate change. Go figure.
I love the arts. Photography. Film. Music. Dance. Fiction. Poetry. You dig the arts? Well, we’ve got a good starting point for another of my lilfe-long faves, a good conversation. Love to chat. Love to learn. Love it, love it, love it!
I don’t believe in marriage because I don’t believe monogamy is likely. We’re humans. We’re mammals. We have sex. Sometimes, in the process of having sex, we ‘make love’. Other times, we just fuck. I think monogamy is possible, for some. I don’t think it’s as common as we humans want to believe it is. It’s an ideal, for a lot of us, a ideal that we strive for but have a tough time reaching.
Mainly, I think love is free. Remember that corny ‘butterfly’ saying when you were a kid? About setting stuff free and all that? Yeah. That’s love, in my mind. It’s not about ‘owning’. You ever realize that, the way we speak of relationships, we use the terminology of ownership? She’s ‘my wife’, he’s ‘my husband’. I don’t own anybody. We’re all free agents in my book, drifting through this amazing, mysterious thing called life, looking for love and happiness where we can, grabbing on for dear life when we can find it and crying our eyes out when it, like all of life, proves temporary at best.
I’m a Steelers fan. For all you Cowboy fans out there, well, we’ve beaten you guys 2 out of 3 in Super Bowls. And, while the Cowboys have been to the big game a total of 8 times, we have a better record, 5-1, in our 6 appearances. In fact, only San Francisco has done better in Super Bowls (they’re 5-0).
Windows sucks. If you’re viewing this page on a Windows computer, you have my deepest sympathies. Get off. Get off now. Go. Hurry to your local Apple Store. Buy a Mac. Do it! Once you go Mac, you never go back. ‘nuff said. |
