About Me: Born 1974, not dead yet. And Scottish (with a kilt to prove it). When I'm not travelling to conferences and massive tech events, I'm at home writing about my travelling and bits of tech. I take my tea black (one sugar) but my coffee white (and two sugars), and will drink Coca-cola when I'm on a massive writing kick, otherwise I can't stand the stuff. Call it a craving if you must, but it makes me angry my brain cries out for it.
Favorite Bands: A whole bundle of unsigned bands which I'll list shortly if I'm allowed links in here. Lets start with The Revolutions (www.therevolutions.com), On the Surface (www.onthesurfacelovesyou.com), Liquid Carousel (www.liquidcarousel.com), Planet of Women (www.planetofwomen.net)
What Pays The Bills: My websites pay the bills, from mobile phones to unsigned Rock Music podcast shows. There's a bundle of freelance journalism in there, mainly about gadgets and mobile technology like PDA's smartphones and laptops. My gadget fund gets topped up with some freelance writing. Beyond that, banner ads on websites are my Bank Manager's friends. I'm hoping that 2006 will see me break into radio and pick up at the very least a short run show on commercial radio.
Favorite Books/Authors: I'm ripping through a bundle of Harry Potter fan fic just now, so Lori Summers and Anjie J figure highly in there. Dale Brown for B-Grade techno thrilles, Douglas Adams (naturally), Cory Doctorow, Edgar Rice Burroughs. I loved Hugh Walters when I was younger, and I really need to get some second hand copies soon.
Pet Peeves: Having to spend a good few days getting everything into these profile pages! I'm just forcing myself to add a sentence each time I pop online.
Likes: Goth Rock, Prog and Classic Metal, power chords, The Muppets, Iron Maiden, the new Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who. I was a Babylon 5 nut, and when I could keep up with it, The West Wing was a must see every week. I'll take a story over SFX any day (which explains my love of Brit Sci-Fi). A nice bottle of Laphroig or Lagavulla goes down well at night, and Irn-Bru in glass does the trick in the morning
I've Had Crushes On...: Ashley Judd, Nicole Kidman, Carol Decker, Kirsty MacColl, Zoe Davidson, and there's was this really short redhead called Rosenberg in my first year at Uni...
