late late update
So alls about the same on the homefront. Stay at home mom-ness, play dates, cooking dinner... just a thrill a minute.

The Monday I after I went to visit my parents my dad went in to have surgery for a mass on his liver and it seems to have made his dementia worse. Like way way worse, he's been acting like I've only seen elderly people act. He's in a nursing facility but they are so understaffed that my mom has to be there at all times to make sure he doesn't hurt himself or just sit there all day in his own fluids (he can't get up without being unhooked from some machines) Apparently sometimes major surgeries can exacerbate dementia- or in rare cases cause it even if the person has no history of it. My mom says if someone had told her there was even a chance of it getting this bad, she would have convinced my dad to hold off on the surgery. He finally gets to see his granddaughter and now, he might never get to actually understand who he is seeing again. Hopefully I am over reacting, but just to hear the strain in my mom's voice when I talk to her tells me I'm not.

On a brighter, more amusing note.... one of my indoor cats has declared war on the cat who has adopted our back porch.

Baku the defender

He keeps jimmying open our back door if we don't pull it tight and getting out there and chasing the Spare cat off. Right now there are chunks of the Spare cat's fur on our porch from last night's smack down.

Spare Cat, the porch dweller

Oh, I also got my Etsy store up and running- sort of. I know it needs a lot of spit shining still, but I have it up and a few items listed at least. We'll see how it goes. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6442609
