Well I can’t believe after nearly 17 years that L.A. Guns is STILL putting out great music. The L.A. based 80’s Glam Sleazy Rock band is back with an all-new 14 track CD entitled “Tales From The Strip”. Before I even knew they were releasing another cd I caught L.A. Guns early this summer on the American Metal Blast Tour here in Hollywood. On the bill were other 80’s metal acts such as W.A.S.P. Stephen Pearcy (original singer for RATT) & Metal Church who unfortunately didn’t do the Hollywood show. During L.A. Guns set, they played a couple tracks from the (at that time) yet to be released CD. And I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was amazing. A month later the cd hit stores & I went to go buy one just to hear the coupled songs they did at the show not knowing at that time that this cd would wind up being one of my top 10 cd’s in my player. With each song giving you the old skool L.A. Guns vibe the cd is almost like a story of L.A. Guns history of the last 17 years. The cd reminds me of a cross between the bands second & third releases “Cocked N Loaded” & “Hollywood Vampires”. Although famed Tracii Guns at this time not in the band, Stacey Blades has been perfect replacement as the new guitarist. The cd still has that classic sleazy rock/blues vibe that only L.A. Guns has delivered in the past. My personal favs on the new cd are “It Don’t Mean Nothing” which is the opening track and sets the flow for the rest of the cd. It’s loud and it traditional GUNS. Another fav is track 5 entitled “Vampire” it’s a little slower tempo than the rest but still has an awesome feel to it. Others include “Hollywood Burning” & “Electric Neon Sun” there’s also a Steven Riley drum solo on the disc for all you drum fans.

I’m not a big CD buyer these days because to me every damn band has the same manufactured look with lame attempted for a killer sound but is destroyed by their whinny singer. If you’re a fan of 80’s rock then I do suggest in picking up L.A. Guns – “Tales From the Strip”

It's good to know that someone is willing to give LA Guns the time of day. It's also good to know that I'm not the only one who still loves them. Thanks for the review!

LA Guns was definitely one theeee best bands to emerge from the early '90s. The band stunk when singer Phil Lewis left, but when he returned, the picked up where he left off. I'll definitely look for this cd.

BTW, Sex Action is a kewl ass song! Their 1st 3 albums are great.

I heard they got Phil Lewis singing with them again. I loved the Hollywood Vampires album. His vocals were excellent with the flow of the music.
