The US won gold at the 4x200 Freestyle Relay breaking the world record by 4.68 seconds.
Their time of 6 minutes, 58.56 seconds was incredible to watch...

The cameras had to pan out just to get other swimmers in view.

I'm not one of those Phelps fans... I think he's a great athlete but I don't follow him... however, after watching this race last night, I'm really impressed with all of the men who swam that race.

It's amazing how dominant Phelps is. Makes you wnder how long he can stay on top and how many of his records will stand.
It's also amazing that he can eat up to 10,000 calories a day and not gain weight.

Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian threw down his greco-roman bronze medal in protest on Thursday after his bid for Olympic gold was ended by a decision denounced by the Swedish coach as “politics.”

Abrahamian took the bronze from around his neck during the medal ceremony, stepped from the podium and dropped it in the middle of the wrestling mat then walked off.

“I don’t care about this medal. I wanted gold,” he said.

A bitter Abrahamian, silver medalist at Athens 2004 who had high hopes of top honors in the 84kg competition in Beijing, announced he was quitting the sport.

“This will be my last match. I wanted to take gold, so I consider this Olympics a failure,” he said

I'm not sure how Phelps won the 100m butterfly. Very close and stunning finish!

Usain Bolt winning the 100m dash was one of the most impressive things I've seen.

I go back and forth about Keri, but I've always thought that Misty was hot.

How are "ribbons" a sport? I understand the gymnastic portion of it but why do they need a ribbon?

Cuba's Angel Matos deliberately kicked a referee square in the face after he was disqualified in a bronze-medal match, prompting the World Taekwondo Federation to recommend he be banned for life.
Now THERE'S Something You Don't See Everyday: Or every Olympics...An athlete (Angel Matos) striking a governing official in the face. I guess the concept of
