I think I'm one of a very small group who likes my Vista . . . it reminds me of my Mac maybe that's why.

Is that a dual core machine? I think if so, and you add in another gig of ram, it'd probably run okay. If it's not dual core, or you can't add any more ram, I imagine that'd probably just make it a lot slower.
Another good rule of thumb is that the longer you've been using a machine, the more likely you are to have some piece of hardware or software that doesn't work right in Vista. It's much better now than when it first launched, but there are still some weird incompatibilities out there. I'm only using it on the newer machine that I got last spring.

it's not a dual core... and i think i can have up to 2 gigs of ram... it says on a sticker: "designed for windows xp" then underneath "windows vista capable" hahaha

that's also something i've been thinking about. i know how to set up dual boot on xp with a *nix system, just not sure with vista.
