Surely someone here knows a reputable source I might order the foam used to line the cases of valuables with?

Dark grey, dense, egg crate, looking stuff that is an inch or two thick. The stuff that isn't egg "cratey" but just a slab of dense foam is fine too.

I have found that the egg crate stuff people sleep on isn't nearly dense enough.

I want to say I have seen it in craft stores before but not 100% sure that's where it was

there are cases called Pelican Cases which that brand also sells just the foam.
