I think her tattoos are crazy, but I also think that her reasons for getting them are sound:

BME:

How did the tattoos progress?

MICHELLE:

I started with the "Cum Slut" tattoo and had no intentions of going further at that point. Then, while I was obsessing about sex, I would think of another tattoo and go have that done. Then, another and another. The words got more direct as the tattoos went on. By the time I was at "cum in me" and "fuck my whore ass", I started to realize I was acting on my sexual addiction in a different way. I can barely go a day without having sex, and everything I do in my life is geared toward having sex. I can have four extramarital affairs a week and not break a sweat or feel any guilt — my body drives me toward sex to a degree most doctors have never heard of.

I especially like her take on feminism:

BME:	What would you say to feminists that say the tattoos are negative toward women?
MICHELLE:	Feminists bother me. They decide what is good and bad for women in the same way men do. I will do what I please, when I please, and that is feminism. I will or will not get whatever tattoo I like.

i love her view on feminism.
as for the rest... sex addiction is like any other addiction. when you're fighting it a lot of times you find other methods of coping.
some might compare this to cutting or self injury... but that's a topic that is debatable as well.

i say to each their own and if she's "happy" that's all that matters.

she's right about the fact that sex addiction places cater to men. trying to find help for it is not easy

For some reason this reminds me of of something I saw in Vice Magazine. They had pictures of Russian(?) child prostitutes with their "owner´s" names tattooed all over their bodies. Now that was creepy. This is just... I dunno...

They were Romanian. That article was pretty interesting. Romania is probably the worst country in Europe, in terms of poverty and quality of life, and they aren't even a war torn country.

I read the whole article too and found it very interesting. Like anything else a person does, her behavior shouldn't be considered pathological unless she feels it is hurting her. I can empathize with a lot of what she says, though I never have the opportunities that she does. Tattoos are often a way for us to say things about ourselves that we either can't or don't know how to express in other ways. I applaud her for trying to find ways to cope with her addiction and I hope she is able to find the help that she needs by making her "problem" more public. She's right about feminism though. It is about individual empowerment, not a different type of group standardization.

That's about as cool as getting "I snort coke" tattoed on your forehead. I really don't understand the point of advertising your addictions unless you are just trying to get attention. Having been abused, lied to, and cheated on by a sex addict makes it a bit difficult for me to be sympathetic. But maybe she really is trying to get help and bring awareness to a taboo problem. Being in a very sex posative feminist environment I tend to forget that for the most part women with sex drives are seen as "dirty" by our society. The fact that women even have sex drives is a mystery to most people. Hopefully she gets the help she needs and maybe though her struggle can bring enlightenment to a poorly understood problem.

I'm being pedantic, but I can't remember if it's circular logic or contradictory, but she says feminists decide what is good or bad for women, then next says she is exercising feminism by doing what she wants. So doesn't that make her a feminist... that bothers her? <CONFUSED> So mmm, i think informed feminists (both male and female) aren't often radical. ie... i know quite a few out and proud whore feminists... would they bother her? But they don't preach. Perhaps I studied gender studies at uni a little too seriously

Anyway, re: her tats... Her chest piece is cute. But I've seen much more attention-worthy tats on the gals and guys on this site.

A slight concern is when she says is a sex addict. In the future, if she has resolved her addiction, she may not want a permanent reminder... much like an reformed alcoholic not wanting tats of Millers or Jack Daniels on them. Whatever floats her boat...

But then again, maybe she is saying she's a sex addict to attract more business. meh... whatever...

Whoa.

Reading the interview makes it even more nuts.... "When I tried to fight my addiction and not have sex with people, I got myself jailed three times for domestic assaults on Britni. I have been confined to mental institutions twice for my outbursts that stem from not acting on my addiction"
