check this artical out... I hope this really doesn't hurt the fish.. what do you guys think?

"A tropical fish supplier in Hong Kong is offering a unique new service in which it will tattoo fish with the words, patterns or logos of your choice using a laser.

HK Aquaria Mall sells a range of parrot cichlids that are dye tattooed with Chinese New Year wishes or sayings such as "I love you", and now offers the opportunity to have fish custom tattooed with the words of your choice.

According to translations kindly provided to Practical Fishkeeping by Alan Goh, Chairman of the HK Aquaria Mall, Alen Lee, told the Chinese newspaper Mingpao that unlike some other forms of dyed fish, his are tattooed with dye using a special "low intensity laser" which he claims leaves a permanent mark and does not cause the fish any pain."

"This practice should be condemned as being cruel and totally unnecessary. It devalues living creatures and treats them as if they were some inanimate object that can be decorated purely for whim or commercial gain."

I'd like to hear what the asshole who has the apple logo tattooed on himself thinks about that...

I think they have been using tattoo methods on fish for a long time, there was a salmon and trout farm near where I grew up that had to mark the fish incase they got out into the river during floods.

Hmm, I've never heard of tattooing a fish, but I guess you can tattoo anything. I've seen pigs get really nice tattoos on their bodies

I work part time at a pet store, a lot of the fish you see there with the "tattoos" are actualy dyed and its not permanent. As far as teh lazor goes i dont see how it would be permanant also considering fish are constantly shedding scales and changing colors when they become sexualy mature. the other question i have is how do they get them to sit still in the chair that long?
