About My Art
| I'm an artist from Southern California, now living in Eugene, Oregon. I make all kinds of art... stained glass windows, rugs, costumes, paintings, assemblages, clay, and all kinds of random things. I love working on collaborative pieces with other artists and having art making parties. I love making custom pieces for people, so let me know if you have an idea in mind and I can make it for you :) |

About Me: I make art all day long and love doing anything creative and challenging. I've lived in Eugene, Oregon since 2003 but am from southern California. |
Body Alterations: Too many tattoos. I was a tattoo artist for about 6 years, but I didn't get too carried away with it. I have a few more I want, but I got spoiled trading tattoo work with guys around town back home, so I've only ever paid for a couple of them. After getting stuff done for free for so long, you just don't want to pay for it at all, you know? |
Favorite Bands: Radiohead, Postal Service, Sunny Day Real Estate, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Church, the Cure, 80s Prince & Michael Jackson, and any 80's music pretty much. |
Favorite Movies: Donnie Darko, The Goonies, BeetleJuice, Harold & Maude, Everything is Illuminated. I love documentaries on weird random things and people, too. |
Favorite Books/Authors: "Ishmael" & "The Story of B" by Daniel Quinn. David Sedaris, Chuck Pahlaniuk. I love books on Cd because I don't have time to read, so if I can carry headphones around and still work while listening to a book, that's nice. |
Likes: Staying up all night painting and sewing and making glass art. Art making parties. Yay! I know, I'm a nerd. |
Pays The Bills: Making stained glass windows for Rose Design Studio here in Eugene. My boss is the sweetest guy in the world and I get to make art all day, so I love it. That is juts part-time, and I make most of my money selling my artwork & costumes on Ebay and other websites, and in little shops & galleries. Most of my art pictures on on my MySpace account at www.myspace.com/jamieburress. |

| My god, I haven't been on here in forever! |
I'm so busy with 2 jobs, no days off, and all kinds of side projects, I'm hardly ever online. When I am, I usually just get on MySpce & send messages out to a few people and answer messages there. Jeez, I feel like a flake, though I know I shouldn't, since I do have very little free time.
My friend Sean is working on my new website, www.skullandbonesproductions and it should have a few things up for sale by next week. I'll be putting up all my little fused glass skull pins and random fused glass art, along with my knitted penis scarves and all that good stuff.
I can't wait to start selling stuff on there and taking on more commissions, and being able to leave one of my jobs and do my own thing instead of working for other people nonstop every day.
I just finished 2 really big stained glass windows I got commissioned to design and make, and now I'm going to be working on one for myself to enter in a big yearly art show we have here in Eugene. It's going to look like a religious window from a distance, but George Bush will be in the center, posed like Jesus, with rays of light radiating from him that are filled with dollar signs & other stuff, then US soldiers in camoflauge in the background with explosions & bombs everywhere, and bodies of innocent people all over the bottom. What do you think? I only have until August 27th to finish it, so I won't be able to make it as big or detailed as I'd like, but I think I can still pull off making it pretty cool.
I'm also scrambling to get more stuff made to sell at the Eugene Gay Pride festival August 11th I'll have a booth at, and then on the 12th I'll be at the Potland Zine Symposium and have what's left over at my table there.
well, that's about all I have time to write about now- gotta get to work on that window.
